Big Bar Guest Ranch is proudly owned by Stswecemc Xgattem First Nation (SXFN), a community located in a semi-remote area on the the Fraser River, approximately 85 kilometers southwest of Williams Lake. Once two distinct bands, Canoe Creek (Stswecemc) and Dog Creek (Xgattem), our two Secwepemc communities joined together in the late 1800s. We honour our separate histories and our coming together. In the 1860s, more than 10,000 people traversed the Caribou Wagon Roadin search of a new life, land to raise cattle, or a gold strike. Harry Marriott, an immigrant from England, started working for the notorious Gang Ranch, one the largest ranch in Canada. Marriot acquired smaller ranches and land parcels, eventually consolidating them into the O.K Ranching Company, with access over 200,000 acres of cattle country and wilderness. Marriott partnered with his friend and Vancouver banker, George S Harrison and sectioned off 100 acres of their mutual land acquisition for his personal use. This was the beginning of Big Bar Guest Ranch. Much is unchanged since the Harrison family used Big Bar Ranch as their family retreat. The original family home, "The Harrison House", built in 1936 with logs and stone hewn and selected from the property, continues to provide a cozy retreat for guests on holiday relaxing in the great room in front of the fire place, or playing a cowboy song on the guitar in the music room. Big Bar guests have access to the original acreage of the OK Cattle Company, and can venture out across unspoiled pasture lands and forests. What has changed is that Big Bar Guest Ranch is now a part of our shared community vision of becoming an economically and politically self-sustaining community living Secwepemc culture, language, and traditions in a healthy and safe environment. Stswecemc Xgattem First Nation invites you to Big Bar Guest Ranch to experience the dramatic landscape of traditional SXFN Territory: interlocking valleys and plateaus, situated between bold and snow topped mountain ranges. Just around the corner from Victoria's Inner Harbour, Fisherman's Wharf is a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered. We are a family based winery focusing on premium wines produced from grapes grown in the spectacular Similkameen Valley. Our unique solar powered winery was built using strawbale construction, which is energy efficient and well suited to our desert environment. Our wineshop is open for tastings from May until October. We have a beautiful long table next to our vineyard, surrounded by trees - the perfect setting for a picnic and glass of wine.

This non-profit society manages over 20 km of nordic trails groomed for classic and skate winter skiing in two areas managed by the club. One area is in town at the Fernie Golf Course featuring 12 km of trails on fairly mellow terrain with wide open spaces. There are also more than 10 km of trails at the Elk Valley Nordic Centre next to Mount Fernie Provincial Park. To reach the Elk Valley Nordic Centre, go west from Fernie on Highway 3. At 3 km from the bridge, turn right at the Island Lake Lodge sign. Follow the road for 0.9 km to the Mt. Fernie Provincial Park sign. Turn left into the overflow parking lot at 0.2 km. The hilly terrain and isolated nature of the trails makes this a very exciting place to ski. The trails link up with the multi-use trails at Fernie Alpine Resort. Trail maps are posted at the kiosks located at the entrances to the trails. Please NO DOGS ON THE TRAILS at any time. The Elk Valley Nordic Centre Warming Hut is located at (49.485633 N, 115.090980 W).

The Blue Horse Folk Art gallery was built by two Salt Spring Island artists, Anna Gustafson and Paul Burke. This charming space houses their most recent works of art, and is open to the public. Anna's raku vases and lamps are always in stock, along with her other projects, including gorgeous encaustic paintings. Paul's folk art animal sculptures are joined by his narrative works, including the acclaimed Mrs. Drysdale's Circus collection.Come and enjoy the gallery, see the artists in their studios, and enjoy the beautiful gardens.

Selkirk Mountain Experience has been listed as a "Best Adventure Travel Company on Earth" by National Geographic Adventure, three times. We are a family owned and operated adventure travel company, based at the Durrand Glacier Chalet, outside Revelstoke BC. This is a remote lodge, accessed by helicopter only. During summer months we offer alpine hiking with over 90 km of trails in a pristine and exclusive setting. Our 18 guests and resident marmots and mountain goats are the only beings using this trail network! In the winter we offer backcountry skiing, in the mecca of alpine powder skiing. Our 96 square km of private tenure offer some of the best skiing on earth, both in the alpine and in the trees. Glades, burns, 30+ summits, 10+ glaciers and the deepest snowpack in the Selkirk Mountains. In addition to the Durrand Glacier Chalet, we have two smaller chalets which we use to do overnight ski trips into the further reaches of our area. All three huts are clean, cozy and beautiful wooden chalets. The Durrand Glacier Chalet is our home base, with 11 private bedrooms and a spacious washroom facility steps from the bedrooms. This facility includes hot running showers, sinks and full indoor plumbing attached to a septic system. We also have a new sauna built in summer 2020 (primarily for winter use). The Durrand has fabulous alpine cuisine, with a private chef and a full staff of friendly, hard-working SME family. There are 4 apartments in 2 adjacent houses. Private entrances, Wi-Fi, hot tub, full kitchens, laundry, excellent beds. Relax in beautiful gardens with BBQs, mountain views and a creek. Quiet, convenient location, 4 blocks from the town centre, 7 minutes to the ski lifts at Red Mountain Resort, 12 minutes to Trail, and a short hike to the Redstone golf course. Mountain bike trails start here. Housekeeping and help-yourself breakfast food are optional. Short-term and longer-term rates are very good value.

Ocean Quest is owned by PADI Course Director (Instructor Trainer) Greg McCracken and PADI Master Instructor Deirdre McCracken. Greg and Deirdre have been actively involved in the diving industry for 20 years and continue to actively teach diving and dive for fun. Their expertise and enthusiasm will ensure that you will receive up to date advice on dive training, equipment and diving experiences. Greg, Deirdre and the staff of Ocean Quest will ensure that your experience is positive and rewarding.Ocean Quest offers Drysuit Specialty training and guided dives on demand (with advanced notice) for certifed divers visiting the Greater Vancouver area.

This is a beautiful spot to come relax in a rustic log cabin on the lake! This fishing resort is 1.5 hours north west of Kamloops B.C. There are 8 log cabins total and five cabins that are lakefront with private docks. This amazing little place is tucked in the wilderness, where the natural beauty is. With sixteen lakes available to guests to fish with rowboats waiting for you, everyday is an adventure. The cabins at the resort all have row boats and electric motors included with you stay. These mountain lakes all produce beautiful Kamloops rainbow trout. This is a quiet place to relax, go for a swim, paddle, walk or hike and have some fun fishing for feisty trout by fly or lure.

A Forest Spa Resort located in the lush forests of Texada Island, featuring 7 fully-equipped modern tiny homes, 8-person cedar hot tub, 12-person cliff-top wood-burning sauna, an outdoor event gazebo, an outdoor theatre, Side-By-Side Guided Tours, Paddleboard and E-Bike rentals, and other local activities. Our units can sleep 2 to 6 people, and in total, our resort can accommodate up to 30 people at a time.

We are located in the best location to kayak Victoria's Outer Harbour! Avoid busy downtown harbour traffic and quickly paddle with amazing Olympic Mountain vistas, harbour seal colonies, blue herons, eagles, jellies, star fish and kelp forests just around the headland from our shop. We offer several guided sea kayaking tours that range from an Inner Harbour paddle to a true West Coast paddling experience on a full day kayaking tour to a historic lighthouse. Enjoy the flavor of a local marina and paddle with us in Victoria's amazing ocean environment. Our tours include a lesson at the beginning of each tour as well as all of the kayakiing equipment needed. We look forward to exploring with you!
