McLean Mill is a rare, surviving example of an early-to-mid 20th century logging and lumber operation in British Columbia. Established in 1925 by Robert Bartlett McLean, his wife Cora and their three sons, it continued as a family-run operation until 1965. McLean Mill was designated a national historic site of Canada in 1989 to commemorate its collection of extant resources related to significant aspects of the forest industry. Whether you wish to take in the history or to go for scenic walk with your family or fur baby, you wont be disappointed. The surroundings are breathtaking and informative. Grab the family, bring a picnic and make it a day at the Mill! 10am-4pm 7-Days/Week during the summer season, however the Mill and Steam Donkey are non operational at this present time. Take a Self-Guided Walking Tour and explore the historic site, buildings and machinery. Admission during the summer season is $10/Adult, $5/Students/Seniors & 7 and Under is Free.

Est. in 1983, Parksville Museum has become home to original heritage buildings from Parksville and nearby surrounding areas. Our collection includes Parksville's second oldest church, the original Parksville Volunteer Fire Department building, and 2 cabins from Craig's By the Sea Auto Camp. Grounds are open year round and buildings are open starting May 4, 2023 Thursdays through Mondays (closed Tues/Wed) from 11AM - 6PM. We offer ocean front cottages, yurts and a motel. We rent kayaks, paddle boards and a motor boat. Our marina has 60 slips and accommodates boats up to 50'. You can enjoy a heated chlorine-free pool during summer months.

Our tours include a lesson at the beginning of each tour as well as all of the kayakiing equipment needed. We look forward to exploring with you!

Our drop-in tour hours are from 1-4 PM Monday-Friday. Trethewey House Heritage Site is operated by Heritage Abbotsford Society, a registered non-profit. Our mission is to collect, record, preserve and share the stories of Abbotsford. We offer a range of programs and experiences including site tours, exhibits, historical Abbotsford walking tours, and more - all by donation. The Heritage Site consists of Trethewey House, Joey's Playhouse, the Upper Sumas Train Station, a Heritage Gallery, and the Sylvia Pincott Heritage Habitat Garden. Trethewey House was built in 1919-1920 by Joseph Ogle "J.O." Trethewey. As President of the Abbotsford Lumber Company, J.O. was responsible for leadership of the company during the company's boom years in the 1920s. The House is built in the local Craftsman style and was constructed using primarily local materials, making it distinct from other buildings of similar age within the City of Abbotsford.
