This completely restored Hudsons Bay Company post, located on the shores of Stuart Lake, was an economic powerhouse of trade and commerce in the 19th Century. It is the largest group of original wooden buildings depicting the fur trade in Canada and portrays the relationship between the fur traders and the Carrier First Nation. Costumed interpreters provide a first hand look at how people lived, ate, worked and died more than a century ago.

A year-round lakeside resort offering self-contained cottages and suites, some with private hot tubs. Every unit is on the lakefront with a breathtaking lakeview from a private deck. Lake activities enjoyed include fishing, swimming, canoeing, ice fishing and boating. Complimentary canoes and rowboats are available. A range of kayaking tours lead by experienced guides who enjoy sharing thier knowledge and passion of the area with people of all skill levels. For the more experienced paddler we have day and multi-day sea kayak rentals. The kayak centre features kayaking supplies, clothing and books If paddling isnt your thing you can watch them come and go from our waterfront deck overlooking Clayoquot Sound while enjoying a fine roasted coffee or speciality tea and locally made goodie

We are a full service paragliding facility , providing Tandem flights , lessons , equipment sales and service . We have accommodation on site from hostel to camping , our paragliding loft has full bathroom , hot showers and kitchen with fridge. Our teaching is from April 1st -Oct 15th. We provide tours in the winter to improve your flying skills during the winter to a variety of locations throughout the world.

The MAC is a venue for art exhibitions, music performances and other arts and culture events and classes. The exhibitions in our two galleries change every six weeks. We have concerts and story telling events every month. Our git shop is full of art, jewellery, sculpture and all kinds of things all made by local artisans. There's always something going on!

The Blue Horse Folk Art gallery was built by two Salt Spring Island artists, Anna Gustafson and Paul Burke. This charming space houses their most recent works of art, and is open to the public. Anna's raku vases and lamps are always in stock, along with her other projects, including gorgeous encaustic paintings. Paul's folk art animal sculptures are joined by his narrative works, including the acclaimed Mrs. Drysdale's Circus collection.Come and enjoy the gallery, see the artists in their studios, and enjoy the beautiful gardens.
