The Fort Nelson Visitor Information Centre is located at Mile 300 on the famous Alaska Highway. Stop in to get information, ask questions, use the computers or internet, use bathrooms and fill up your coffee mug. The centre is also stocked with local artisan products from art and jewelry to pottery and First Nations products which may make a great keepsake. Deluxe safari tents with with either king bed or two doubles. The camp is perched on a 630' long deck 16 feet in the air above the water's edge. Explore the waters and shoreline surrounding Alder Bay on a three and a half hour guided kayak tour. Facilities: 16 campsites, pit toilets, water hand pump. Location: 5 km west of Rock Creek on Highway 3. Johnstone Creek is a quiet, forested campground just off Highway 3. Whether you are looking for relaxation in a beautiful nature setting or are seeking a well situated roadside stopover 35 minutes west of Osoyoos, this campground is less than 10 minutes from Rock Creek and Kettle River Recreation Area. Campsites are often available for last-minute campers in peak months. Fees are cash only and are self-registration. The park has 38 hectares of mature Douglas fir, larch and spruce trees that provide habitat for woodpeckers and other cavity nesting bird species. White-tailed deer are often seen in the park. Wildlife viewing opportunities can be observed from the short nature loop hike and lookout trail. Open from the May Long Weekend through the second weekend in September.

Sept 4 to Dec 20 2025 Carr House is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10-4 for self-guided tours. Wander around the garden, explore the house, and browse the gift shop! Guided tours are offered on Fridays and Saturdays at 10, Noon, and 2 p.m. Carr House closes occasionally for special events. Please call ahead to confirm hours.

This Farmers' Market offers a unique experience with a permanent outdoor marketplace during the spring/summer including vendor booths, a food barn, a bandshell for local music and a miniature train that runs during the Sunday market.
