In the fall time we have The Salmon Run. Here the Salmon from the ocean come to lay their eggs and then die off. It really is worth seeing! The fall colors of the leaves are spectacular! In winter we have wonderful powdered snow for Cross Country skiing as well as Snowmobiling. A wonderful time of year as well!

Castlegar's Golf Club is a championship 18-hole, semi-private course situated above the Columbia River. Our facilities include a fully-stocked golf shop, excellent practice facilities, full service Clubhouse & a new 20 site RV Park. We also offer the following amenities: private lessons, grass tee driving range, practice greens, club rentals & power carts. In 2010, we hosted the BC Amateur and in 2011 the BC Senior games. The championship Castlegar Golf Course has hosted numerous Provincial and National tournaments. A must play on any Kootenay vacation; come and stay in our great new RV Park. A 28 acre private nature park. We have a No Amplified Music policy which means no music please. Of course, that does not mean that the campground runs in a meditative state, as acoustic guitar and singing is welcome. The entire property, including washrooms and pay showers, are immaculate. Paradise Valley Campgrounds location is known as front country this area is a natural habitat for many forms of wildlife. Typically, wild animals fear humans and are rarely seen or heard. If they are attracted by food and/or garbage left out around the campground, their fear diminishes and they become what is known as habituated; the fear is gone and they take what they want. Keeping our property clean has prevented wildlife from becoming habituated. To this end the campground provides several bear proof garbage and recycling containers.

Facilities: 26 campsites, public beach and day-use area, pit toilets, water hand pump. There is a 10hp boating restriction on the lake. Location: 12 km from Highway 3 east of Greenwood. Jewel Lake is a popular rustic campground that attracts fishermen, campers, and people looking to explore the great outdoors. It is common to spot anglers fly-fishing for rainbow trout on this scenic 3 km long lake. This truly unique provincial park offers stunning views in a wilderness setting. Campsites are often available for last-minute campers in peak months. Open from the May Long Weekend through the second weekend in September.
