Our winemaking philosophy revolves around two principles: gentle handling of fruit and minimal intervention of wine. We employ a combination of traditional practices and leading-edge technologies to preserve the beautiful, natural character of our wines. Culmina is located on three spectacular adjoining benches, scouted for its rich vineyard potential and developed from virgin land. The warm, rocky and mineral rich terroir of our Arise Bench vineyard is the ideal site for Bordeaux red varieties and is the source for our flagship wine Hypothesis. Structured, intense and deep in colour, Hypothesis represents the culmination of our efforts to create icon quality wines. As part of Culminas commitment to excellence, Jean- Marc Enixon manages the certified organic vineyard with the utmost care.

Located at the hub of the Pacific Rim, the Alberni Valley has many treasures for you to discover. Nestled amongst the evergreens under the ever watchful presence of Mount Arrowsmith, you will find one of these at the Alberni Golf Club. This traditional golf course has a rich history extending back to the 1920's. While there have been many improvements to the course over the years you can nevertheless feel the spirit of those who have roamed the fairways before you. There is ample enjoyment and challenge for golfers of all skill levels. This par 70 jewel follows the contours of a salmon bearing stream which comes into play on several holes and also makes its annual contribution to the world's salmon capital, Port Alberni.

While everyone enjoys the wine and the view when they come to visit, the most asked question would have to be about our name...On a cool spring morning in 1929, a small crew from Okanagan Falls set off to a deserted mining camp some 16 miles away from home. Their mission: to dismantle an old wooden church and bring it back to Okanagan Falls.The plan called for a controlled blast of four dynamite sticks inside the church in order to "loosen the nails". Odd as it may seem, the explosion spared the wood from damage during dismantling.Save for losing the steeple, the plan succeeded. Now the 103 year old wooden church stands proudly in its second home of Okanagan Falls and is still an operating United Church. In keeping with its rather remarkable history, the church has since withstood the threat of two major floods, including the disastrous burst of the Okanagan Falls Dam in the early 1950's.In naming our VQA wines "Blasted Church" we celebrate the ingenuity of the initiative to move the church and honor those pioneers for their vision.

The Gallery moved into its Governor Generals Medal-winning building in 2017 after operating as Presentation House Gallery for 40 years. The organization has presented more than 300 exhibitions and earned a reputation as one of the countrys most adventurous public art institutions.
