Once the home of Rossland's dairy, Red Barn Lodge is well situated for its current role of providing a convenient base for your Summer and Winter outdoor adventures. With wilderness starting at the backdoor and spectacular views of Red Mountain and Mount Roberts from the front, the guesthouse is just 5 minutes by car from Red Mountain Ski Area and Blackjack Cross-Country Ski Area.Rossland's downtown, with its great restaurants and stores, is just ten minutes away on foot. Trails lead from the yard into the backcountry for ski tours, snowshoeing, mountainbiking and walking on the many paths through the surrounding British Columbia Interior Cedar- Hemlock forest. The Trans-Canada Trail runs by just a couple of hundred yards away, through the Red Barn Lodge property. Snowshoes are available to guests.The lodge is well situated in 13 acres of private grounds. At our Marina you will also find a summer store with everything you need to enjoy our beautiful lake, a full line of boat and fishing accessories and off course ICE CREAM! Tofino Botanical Gardens are 12 acres of gardens, forest, and shoreline that explore the relationship between culture and nature. A network of paths and boardwalk will take you through our Cultivated Gardens, Sculpture Park, and Old-Growth Temperate Rainforest, where clearings have been transformed into a series of pocket gardens. Some of these gardens display plants that thrive in temperate rainforests around the world including Chile and Japan. Others celebrate cultural groups that have made Clayoquot Sound their home now and in the past, particularly the Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations, early Japanese fishing families, and, of course, hippies. The Gardens extend to the Tofino Mudflats, an incredible expanse of intertidal mud teeming with life, revealed twice a day at low tide. Events including Tofino Winterlights, Tofino Lantern Festival, Surfrider Foundation film festival, Food and Wine,Musicians, Weddings and more are hosted within the eclectic scenery.

BIG Little Science Centre is a fun Hands-On venue for Families. During drop-in times our hands-on rooms are open for visitors to tour at their leisure. The site has approximately 140 stations of hands-on activities to try.
