Barriere is in central B.C., located 66 kilometres north of Kamloops. Primarily an agricultural town, Barriere is surrounded by beautiful lakes, trees, and wildlife.

Located in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, the Fairfield Inn & Suites Vernon is the newest hotel in Vernon, BC. Nestled between 3 lakes each offering great beaches and endless summer activities and at the base of Silver Star Mountain, Vernon is a true four seasons playground. Opened to the public in 2013, the Fernie Museum is located in the heart of historic downtown Fernie. The museum offers two floors of exhibits, a gift shop, archives and visitor information services. The main floor permanent exhibit highlights the story of the Fernie region, from the use of the area by the Ktunaxa to underground and open pit mining to the development of Fernie as a four-season resort community. The second floor gallery features rotating art and history exhibits. The Museum also offers a range of programs throughout the year, including popular themed walking tours during the summer. Museum staff are on hand to help guide your paths as your explore our museum, community and the environment around us whether it is on the ski hill or on our many hiking or biking trails. Public washrooms are available and the facility offers barrier free access.

Our 2-bedroom, bed and breakfast is in beautiful West Courtenay, which is approximately 90 minutes north of the Nanaimo ferries (via the 19A Oceanview route, or 70 minutes (via the Inland Highway), 15 minutes from the Comox Valley Airport and about 15 minutes from the Powell River Ferry Terminal. There are 6 golf courses, including the world-class Crown Isle Golf & Country Club. Beautiful parks and hiking trails just a short walk or drive from Arbour Cottage B & B. Mount Washington, Strathcona Provincial Park and Paradise Meadows only 32 minutes away. B & B within driving distance to unique shops in downtown Courtenay. Two bedrooms available, both queen. Low Season (October to April) $120; High Season (May to September $130 (breakfast included). Shared bath. Patio available (weather permitting) for our guests use.
