The Fort Nelson Heritage Museum is situated just West of the historic Mile 300 milepost on the World Famous Alaska Highway. The museum is located in Fort Nelson, BC, Canada and is operated by the Fort Nelson Historical Society. Fort Nelson is the gateway to the Northern Rocky Mountains and the Muskwa-Kechika Management Area. Mission Statement: To preserve and share the human, natural, and transportation history of the Fort Nelson area. Housed in 8 buildings, the museum offers countless displays and artifacts. View displays on forestry, fire fighting, mining, oil & gas, communications, construction, and wildlife. The museum is also home to a large collection of vintage automobiles. Kilby Park is situated on the confluence of the Harrison and Fraser rivers in scenic Harrison Mills. It features a beautiful 35-site campground, a day-use area, sandy beaches, nature trails and a boat launch. The Park is at the west end of Kilby Road, within walking distance of the Historic Site. You can stay in a modern cozy villa or one of our serviced RV sites. We are only a short walk to the very relaxing Kettle River. There you can catch a trout or take a very enjoyable float down the peaceful river. We have an abundance of wild life on and around the property. Everything from song birds and birds of prey to deer and elk.
