Built in 1928, Assiniboine Lodge was North Americas first backcountry ski lodge. Today it retains its rustic charm and welcoming spirit. Nestled at the base of iconic Mt. Assiniboine, the Lodge is surrounded by soaring peaks, alpine meadows filled with wildflowers, larch trees and turquoise lakes. Located 28 kilometers from the nearest road, it is a place of incredible peacea place where we disconnect from the busy world and reconnect with nature, family and friends. Winter and summer we are passionate about sharing our mountain home with our guests!

Hi, my name is Josephine, and I am the Property Manager here at TikiVillage in beautiful Vernon, BC. Our beautiful garden area is so relaxing and it was wonderful to see barbecues for the guest use. I have grown to love my job and I am very lucky to have met so many wonderful people from all over the world. I want to announce that I am aware that we show our age, but the rooms and linens are clean and you wont ever meet a greater team. The Tiki will be retiring soon to make way for a bigger Hotel, so we are what we are and we strive to make up for it in many other ways. Take care everyone and maybe see you all before she is gone and when she is resurrected. Thank you As of December 2022 we will no longer be accepting cash for rentals. February 2023 the outdoor pool is permanently shut down to unforeseen circumstances.

In the winter: we are close to the ski hill (only two minutes) and cross country skiing or snow shoeing starts in our back yard! Down town Kimberley is only a 5 minutes (short cut) walk and we are across from the well known restaurant The Old Bauernhaus.

A playground, giant chess game, horseshoes for families. We feature coin-operated showers and flush toilets. Firepits at all sites. Some river view sites available. We have a river walk with beach good for fishing and relaxing. River is great for tubing. We are pet friendly. We have a small store and sell ice and firewood on site. We have free wifi for guests and even a couple cable tv channels.
