River Safari
In the heart of the planets only inland temperate rainforest, board one of our specially designed boats for this smooth but exciting River Safari. Explore up to 12 kilometers of the spectacular Grizzly Bear Valley where the bears decide when and for how long we stop along the way! As you are travelling through glacier-fed rivers and lakes and going where it seems no boat has gone before, we hope to see wildlife among the river banks. In addition to an information-packed narrative, guides will point out glaciers and many waterfalls toppling from the surrounding snow-capped mountains. Sept 4 to Dec 20 2025 Carr House is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10-4 for self-guided tours. Wander around the garden, explore the house, and browse the gift shop! Haylmore Heritage Site
Visit the homesite of Will Haylmore, Deputy Mine Recorder during the Cariboo Gold Rush. The Bridge River Valley was one of the richest gold producing areas between 1930-1950, lots of amazing history to explore! Come and enjoy the open air site, pan for gold, sample homemade ice cream or shop at the local Artisan's gallery for unique handmade wares. A Visitor Information Centre is also on-site.
Tofino Botanical Gardens
Tofino Botanical Gardens are 12 acres of gardens, forest, and shoreline that explore the relationship between culture and nature. A network of paths and boardwalk will take you through our Cultivated Gardens, Sculpture Park, and Old-Growth Temperate Rainforest, where clearings have been transformed into a series of pocket gardens. Some of these gardens display plants that thrive in temperate rainforests around the world including Chile and Japan. Others celebrate cultural groups that have made Clayoquot Sound their home now and in the past, particularly the Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations, early Japanese fishing families, and, of course, hippies. The Gardens extend to the Tofino Mudflats, an incredible expanse of intertidal mud teeming with life, revealed twice a day at low tide. Events including Tofino Winterlights, Tofino Lantern Festival, Surfrider Foundation film festival, Food and Wine,Musicians, Weddings and more are hosted within the eclectic scenery.
