Yuquot National Historic Site Of Canada
Continuously occupied for over 4,300 years, Yuquot village became the capital for all 17 tribes of the Nootka Sound region. Known as the Birthplace of BC where first contact with European explorers and traders occurred 250 years ago. Attracted to the security of the harbour, it became known to explorers as Friendly Cove. As a result, Yuquot developed into an important centre of trade and diplomacy, and it was briefly the site of Spains only military establishment in present-day Canada.

Did you know that the Bon Voyage Inn has completed a full renovation of all guest-rooms in 2016? There are two restaurants and a shopping area with laundromat, health food-store, cold beer and wine store, gas station with car and truck wash, convenience store and more - just at your doorstep. Motor-bikers traveling to or from Alaska may find our property handy, since we always (based on availability) will try to have them on the ground floor, and we are happy to provide rags for cleaning ... and can offer some spots where they machines can stay dry during bad weather. Cyclists may also find us a good stop-over, since we do offer overnight locked storage for the bicycles. You don't have to bring it into your room. The Bon Voyage Inn also features a spacious, well-lit parking lot, which is a good fit for bus groups, teams, school excursions and also big trucks. Winter plug-ins are, of course, available to our guests. The Bon Voyage Inn is only two minutes from Southridge Mall, one of Prince George's biggest shopping areas with stores like WalMart, Canadian Tire, Home Depot etc., and it is only ten minutes from UNBC, the University of Northern British Columbia. Cape Scott Provincial Park
Cape Scott Provincial Park is a truly magnificent area of rugged coastal wilderness that is located at the northwestern tip of Vancouver Island, 563 kilometres from Victoria. Cape Scott is characterized by more than 115 kilometres of scenic ocean frontage, including about 30 kilometres of spectacular remote beaches. The rugged North Coast Trail is a challenging and popular 43.1 km hiking track that connects many pristine beaches by stretches of tough overland passage. The park stretches from Shushartie Bay in the east, then westward around Cape Scott and south to San Josef Bay. Rocky promontories, salt marshes and jagged headlands punctuate the fine-textured, white-sand beaches. The most impressive of these beaches, Nels Bight, stretches more than 2,400 metres long and 210 metres wide at low tide, and is one of the parks most popular camping destinations. Other significant beaches include San Josef Bay, Guise Bay, Experiment Bight, Lowrie Bay and Nissen Bight.
