Malahat SkyWalk opened in July 2021 as the newest outdoor experience providing the ultimate natural high on Vancouver Island located 35 minutes north of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Accessible by all ages and wheelchair-friendly, it will immerse visitors in nature as they embark on a 600 metre-long elevated walkway through an expansive Arbutus and Douglas Fir forest, leading to a 10-storey, architecturally-inspiring spiral tower lookout the first of its kind in B.C. Rising 250 metres above sea level, guests can enjoy 360-degree views of islands, inlets, fjords, forests and mountains in two countries. An adventure net suspended partially across the centre of the Spiral Tower provides daring guests with another breathtaking perspective on the spiraling structure below before returning to ground level with an option to take an exhilarating ride down a 20 metre (65 ft) spiral slide. Playland is part of the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) fairgrounds in Vancouver and is BCs most famous amusement park. The MAC is a venue for art exhibitions, music performances and other arts and culture events and classes. The exhibitions in our two galleries change every six weeks. We have concerts and story telling events every month. Our git shop is full of art, jewellery, sculpture and all kinds of things all made by local artisans. There's always something going on!
Your day will start with a scenic jet boat trip down Quesnel Lake to the Cariboo Mountains Park and into the wetlands of the Mitchell and Penfold Rivers. This eco system is as it has been for all time. Your senses will be rewarded with sights of Salmon swimming in the crystal clear river, beavers swimming with tree branches in their mouth. Rounding a bend in the river you can spot grizzly bears feeding on the returning salmon. Large Giant Ancient Cedar Forests surround you so you have the chance to hike in un-spoiled wilderness. This adventure can be extended for up to a week by staying at our out post cabin at the end of the North arm of Quesnel Lake. The river will be full of red sockeye salmon. You will need to bring a telephoto lens for those shots of a life time. You will see Grizzly cubs with thier mothers as well as big male grizzlies.
