Take a guided tour of a working salmon hatchery and talk to knowledgeable staff about this amazing, iconic creature. Learn what makes wild salmon the lifeblood of the BC Coast. A visit to the Salmon Centre is a fun and educational experience for all ages!The Quatse Salmon Stewardship Centre, Quatse River Hatchery, and Quatse River Campground are operated by the Northern Vancouver Island Salmonid Enhancement Association. All proceeds fund salmon conservation efforts on Northern Vancouver Island.

Camp Valhalla is a family-friendly retreat and RV paradise on the shores of Summit Lake, in British Columbia, Canada. Your day will start with a scenic jet boat trip down Quesnel Lake to the Cariboo Mountains Park and into the wetlands of the Mitchell and Penfold Rivers. This eco system is as it has been for all time. Your senses will be rewarded with sights of Salmon swimming in the crystal clear river, beavers swimming with tree branches in their mouth. Rounding a bend in the river you can spot grizzly bears feeding on the returning salmon. Large Giant Ancient Cedar Forests surround you so you have the chance to hike in un-spoiled wilderness. This adventure can be extended for up to a week by staying at our out post cabin at the end of the North arm of Quesnel Lake. The river will be full of red sockeye salmon. You will need to bring a telephoto lens for those shots of a life time. You will see Grizzly cubs with thier mothers as well as big male grizzlies.

Formally, Nicholas Sonntag Marine Education Centre, TidePools is a unique collect-and-release aquarium located inside Gibsons Public Market in the seaside town of Gibsons, BC. TidePools houses 30 exhibits displaying natural habitats and local marine fish and invertebrates from the waters of the Howe Sound. This includes interactive touch tanks and scavenger hunts! The animals are collected by our team of professional SCUBA divers. The animals are then housed in the Centre for 6-18 months, depending on the species, and released back to the ocean with help from the entire community. Displays are always changing, allowing the diversity of the marine life we have in the Howe Sound to shine. Deluxe safari tents with with either king bed or two doubles. The camp is perched on a 630' long deck 16 feet in the air above the water's edge. Packages are all-inclusive with chef-prepared meals, guided activities and grizzly bear, eagle and salmon watching in the autumn months. Fishing, hiking, biking, rafting, kayaking, horseback riding, SUPing, and wildlife viewing are included.
