Founded in 1985, Gulf Island Kayaking is a family owned and operated tour and rental company offering half-day, full-day, and multi-day guided kayak adventures as well as quality kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, for hire out of Montague Harbour Marina on Galiano Island. Join our knowledgeable guides for an unforgettable kayaking experience exploring the wave-sculpted sandstone cliffs and diverse intertidal life along Galiano's undeveloped coast. Since 1986 we have been operating tours in the pristine waterways of Queen Charlotte Strait, Johnstone Strait (Robson Bight), and Blackfish Sound. This area is considered the best place to find Northern resident orca. Large numbers of humpback whales also congregate here during the summer months. Other marine mammals such as Biggs (transient) orca, minke whales, Pacific white-sided dolphins, Dalls porpoises, sea otters, Northern sea lions, and harbour seals are regularly sighted on tours. We take 11 people maximum and pride ourselves in offering a more personalized approach to whale watching. The small group sizes offer more intimacy with the wildlife and an opportunity to interact with the skipper. The boat has a marine toilet onboard and provides enough space that when stationary, guests are welcome to move about the boat to take photographs and enjoy the dynamic scenery and wildlife. It is a perfect whale watching platform. We offer ethical, educational, and meaningful experiences.

Conveniently located along Highway 3, Boundary Creek campground is a well situated overnight stop and popular for those passing through the Boundary Region. Boundary Creek is a first come, first serve park and often has spots available, even during peaks periods. A slagheap and crumbling stack near the park mark the site of the historic BC Copper Co. smelter, which employed 400 people between 1901 and 1918. The quaint town of Greenwood is minutes away and offers many amenities, including restaurants, cafes and a pub. Open from early May through mid September.

During the autumn and winter months, the Visitor Centre is not staffed. But you will find self-serve information available, such as maps, schedules, visitor tips and more.
