Enjoy the restored Tram Car 1220, originally built in 1912, and the largest artefact in the City of Richmonds museum collection. Housed in a building inspired by the architecture of the first Steveston tram station, Tram Car 1220 now rests on its original rail tracks. Nicknamed the Sockeye Special, the interurban tram service carried workers from Vancouver to Steveston to work in the canneries, from 1905 to 1958.

Shearwater is located in the Great Bear Rainforest on the West Coast of British Columbia, Canada. Guests have the choice in stay in one of our 8 larger tents which are protected from the elements by metal roofs and cedar mud rooms and each has its own private en-suite bathroom with power, drinking water, hot water and a flush toilet. We also offer 3 smaller tents which are simple canvas wall-tents on cedar platforms with a bed, a desk, a chair and a wood stove.
