Haida Style Expeditions is a Haida Owned and Operated, family business practicing sustainable tourism on Haida Gwaii. Owners, James & Shawn Cowpar, identical twins, offer over 25 years of experience in the tourism industry. A team of local professional guides, your safety is our number one priority. We provide a variety of cultural tours into Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve, Marine Conservation Area, and Haida Heritage Site. Guests will have the opportunity to visit ancient village sites, meet the Haida Gwaii Watchmen, watch for wildlife, and experience nature on any one of our three different tours into Gwaii Haanas. On our West Coast Tour, we explore the Ancient Village site of Ts'aahl (Chaatl) where one can view two of the last frontal poles still standing since contact and learn about the history of the village. Your guide, Tomer, started his food journey by working in some of the top kitchens around Mt Pleasant. These days, he works as a farmer and a forager supplying ingredients to those same kitchens. With lots of stories to tell, and deep connections to the neighbourhood, Tomer is your perfect guide to eat like a local in Mt. Pleasant.

A short walk from downtown Nelson we are located on Kootenay Lake at the Prestige Marina. You can paddle right from our office. We have a convenient launching dock and paddles and life jackets are included with each rental. There is no more convenient place to get on the water!
