The front building hosts an ocean front event room and family style accommodation unit for those that want to be right on the water and at the boardwalk. The middle and largest building on the property is a 100 years old, with TONS of history, and will soon to be a restaurant, a bar and have 8 upper suites/rooms (opening approx. May 2024). The building has 2 large decks overlooking the channel to enjoy, one being the FLORA's restaurant and bar, and 4 water view rooms are available as well. Founded in 2004, the Smith Family built Howling Bluff Estate Winery and vineyard from scratch on our farm on Three Mile Rd that is now part of the famous Naramata Bench wine region. We released our first vintage, the 2006 Sauvignon Blanc, in the spring of 2007. Four BC Lieutenant Governor awards, one Silver in the Decanter World Wine awards, one Red Wine of the Year award, and too many other accolades to count later, Howling Bluff is now focused on finding the best expression of our vineyard for our wines while making sure we create a legacy of a sustainable family winery that our children will continue with far into the future. From our solar panels to our biodynamic, organic and most importantly to us sustainable farming and winemaking practices, added to our efforts to buying local when possible to our most ambitious mission yet: to use, as much as possible, products that have the lowest possible footprint on our planet.
