One of those areas is the Wells Gray Park, 5200 sq. kilometer of protected wilderness in Central British Columbia. Bounded on the north and east by the Cariboo Mountains, and on the west by an upland plateau, the Wells Gray Park encompasses a broad spectrum of mountain scenery. The area is abundant in flora and fauna. Caribou, moose, black bear, beaver and wolf freely roam the park, and local streams are well stocked with trout. Horseback riding, fishing, mountain biking, river rafting, hiking and canoeing into the local wilderness are all part of the ranch's daily summer routine. Your skilled guide will lead you to adventures on remote mountains, valleys and lakes in a setting as spectacular as it is challenging. COVID-19-update: The Wells Gray Guest Ranch will open June 1st, 2020 with limited capacity,. We are continuing to welcome guests who are able to make the journey. Whistler Olympic Park RV & Campground is a new camping destination in BCs Sea to Sky Corridor. It is located within and operated by the iconic Whistler Olympic Park in the Callaghan Valley, 30 minutes south of Whistler and 40 minutes north of Squamish. It provides over 50 campsites, with 20 full-service RV sites and 19 unserviced multi-use sites for tenting and smaller recreational vehicles, the only group camping site in the area and overflow sites.The campground operates from early summer to fall annually, thereby complementing Winter Olympic Parks winter offerings as a cross-country skiing and snowshoeing destination and Nordic sport training centre. The Dominion Astrophysical Observatory is a designated National Historical Site. Its original instrument, the Plaskett Telescope was the largest operational telescope in the world when it started observations in 1918. It is still used nightly for scientific research. Tour the telescope and learn the history of this amazing machine that mapped the Milky Way Galaxy. The Centre of the Universe offers the unique experience of visiting the historic Plaskett telescope. We also have our exhibit gallery, complete with planetarium showing the stars and full dome movies, virtual reality experiences, kiosks, and more. Currently our winter hours are in place. During the cruise season we open for exclusive onshore excursions.
