Continuously occupied for over 4,300 years, Yuquot village became the capital for all 17 tribes of the Nootka Sound region. Known as the Birthplace of BC where first contact with European explorers and traders occurred 250 years ago. Attracted to the security of the harbour, it became known to explorers as Friendly Cove. As a result, Yuquot developed into an important centre of trade and diplomacy, and it was briefly the site of Spains only military establishment in present-day Canada.

The marina will be available for guest boat moorage and local marina tourism business rentals such as sport fishing, whale watching, kayaking. Please contact property direct for marina enquires. Located on the shores of Ucluelet harbour, next to the permanently docked Canadian Princess, this resort features guest rooms with balconies overlooking the harbour and mountains. Each room at the Canadian Princess Lodge has been newly renovated as of spring 2018 equipped with free WIFI, cable TV and a coffee maker. A work desk is also provided. The Pacific Rim National Park Reserve Long Beach Unit is a 10-minute drive from the Ucluelet Canadian Princess Lodge.
