Built in 1989 by owner/operator Chris Bennett from locally salvaged red cedar, Blackfish Lodge is a charming, family-run fly-in floating lodge located in British Columbia Canada, within the new Great Bear Rainforest, about 30 miles east of the northern end of Vancouver Island. Blackfish Lodge offers both fresh and saltwater fishing opportunities for all skill and experience levels. When you fish with us there are no pre-set fishing hours, we will fish each day as conditions and your preferences guide us. We offer a one-of-a-kind Whistler tour starting from downtown Vancouver. We first pick you up from your location and tour through Stanley Park, followed by a stop at Horseshoe Bay to take in the amazing views before heading up to Shannon Falls to see BC's third tallest waterfall. The next stop is Brackendale, one of the best places in the world to see bald eagles. By the time we reach Whistler, it's just in time for lunch. You can stroll around the Whistler Village, and enjoy the many activities Whistler has to offer. We plan to be around 20 years from now, not by becoming a large company but by creating a sustainable business within our community. For us part of that means making wines that always over deliver. HOW We spend all of our money on our wines, not our marketing. We eschew heavy bottles, advertising and fancy labels. In the winery we use old French Oak (not expensive) and have very little in the way of technology (still use basket presses). We are also not part of any marketing groups nor do we submit wines to award or trade shows - all of which cost money. Every penny we save goes toward the quality of our wines and to keeping their prices stable. We hope you enjoy.
