Established in 1959, Covert Farms Family Estate Winery is located in Oliver, BC on 650 acres of benchland. Winemaker Gene Covert is a 3rd generation farmer who worked this land with his father and grandfather. Our certified organic estate vineyards are influenced by the majestic McIntyre Bluff and managed with biodynamic practices. We craft our estate wines with minimal intervention, using natural fermentation when possible to focus on vineyard and fruit. Our white wines display purity of fruit and a crisp natural acidity coveted by growers, and low yields result in terroir-focused artisan reds that are luscious and age-worthy. We are a family-owned winegrowers, producing premium small lot red wines and white wines. We grow all our own grapes and produce our wines on site. Visit our tasting room for informative and entertaining tastings and to purchase special wines not available anywhere else. During the pandemic, the Sidney Street Market was transformed into the "Sidney Outdoor Markets". Its new location off Beacon Avenue, next to the Mary Winspear Centre, hosts two markets per week throughout the summer. The new location offers plenty of nearby parking, larger, less crowded laneways to walk, convenient public washrooms and a wonderful variety of local and regional growers, producers, artists, musicians and creators that consist of many of our old favourites along with loads of new, exciting vendors. All of this is still just steps away from beautiful downtown Sidney and the many shops, restaurants and waterfront walkway. The Sidney Famer's Market takes place everything Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm beginning on Mother's Day, May 8 and ending on September 25.
