Whistler Olympic Park RV & Campground is a new camping destination in BCs Sea to Sky Corridor. It is located within and operated by the iconic Whistler Olympic Park in the Callaghan Valley, 30 minutes south of Whistler and 40 minutes north of Squamish. It provides over 50 campsites, with 20 full-service RV sites and 19 unserviced multi-use sites for tenting and smaller recreational vehicles, the only group camping site in the area and overflow sites.The campground operates from early summer to fall annually, thereby complementing Winter Olympic Parks winter offerings as a cross-country skiing and snowshoeing destination and Nordic sport training centre. The Nikkei Internment Memorial Centre is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of the internment of over 22,000 Japanese Canadians during the Second World War. The Nikkei Internment Memorial Centre opened its doors in 1994 as an initiative from the New Denver Kyowakai Society to commemorate and honor the stories of over 22,000 Japanese Canadians who were stripped of their civil rights, labelled "enemy aliens" and uprooted from their coastal homes during the Second World War. Located on the site of a former internment camp, the original buildings, period artifacts, interpretive displays, and Heiwa Teien garden designed by the renowned Roy (Tomomichi) Sumi, chronicle this extraordinary episode in Canadian history.
