The massive mountain rises 4000 vertical ft and covers 3000 acres of terrain suitable for all abilities. Intermediates carve the famed fall-line groomed runs while advanced skiers revel in the steeps of Taynton Bowl. The summits 8000 ft elevation, just below tree-line, provides breathtaking views and stands tall over this convenient ski-in/ski-out village and the nearby quaint town of Invermere. After an exhilarating day on the slopes guests rejuvenate in Canadas largest slopeside hot-pools. The resorts relaxed character and abundance of onsite activities including heliskiing, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and tubing make it a favourite for destination skiers. Macaloney's Island Distillery & Twa Dogs Brewery is a producer of premium malt whiskies and superb craft beers. Our basic tour lasts 45 mins and begins in our visitors centre and flows the way the spirits go, past the grist mill where you can taste some of the various strains of malted & un- malted barley, or other cereals that we as a craft brewer as well as a distiller get to play and experiment with. Onward into the heart of the Brew & Still house through the smells of the mash tun & wash backs, past the gleaming swan necked Stills and then up into the warehouse and bottling hall before returning back to the visitors centre for a wee dram of two of the whiskies in our Macaloney Cask Selection series along with three of our craft beers. BC has the best cold water diving in the world with unique sealife. Nanaimo offers some of the best shore access as well as boat trips. NDO can provide equipment and a guide to help you enjoy whatever underwater experience you desire. From shore snorkel trips and scuba diving to boat charters to go snorkeling with the seals or scuba diving, there is something for everyone. The Shepherd is our 33ft aluminum dive boat that can take you to some great dive spots including walls, reefs, and artificial reefs or wrecks. She has a large covered deck, storage space below the benches and over head nets for dry storage, an awesome dive ladder, and a marine head.

Sand Dollar Log Cabin is a cozy, clean 2 bedroom plus loft, oceanfront cabin with breathtaking views of the white sands of Gillies Bay. Relax on the oceanfront patio and watch the eagles, herons, and hawks soar by. The perfect retreat for couples to unwind or families to make lasting memories. Miles of sand and sealife spread from Gillies Bay, making the beach a perfect place to swim, paddleboard, and kayak. There is a 9 hole golf course, tennis courts, and endless hiking trails all close by. Our cabin has been described as a nature lover's paradise. Nearby restaurants, General Store with liquor, excellent hiking trails, mountain biking, tennis courts, 9 hole golf, waterfront parks, and more. Endless exploring on BC's largest Gulf Island.

Sealegs Kayaking & Marine Adventure Centre offers wildlife kayaking tours, kayak and stand up paddle board (SUP) rentals and an Eco Adventure Centre pro-shop at Transfer Beach in Ladysmith. Paddle demonstrations, safety talks and a gear fittings are included with all rentals. Eagles, seals, river otters are commonly viewed in and around our quiet harbour and family friendly beachside park.
