Great Bear Lodge offers grizzly bear tours from May to October at a floating lodge in the Great Bear Rainforest. With no other operators in the river system and a maximum of 18 guests, people can feel truly immersed in nature. Tours start with a spectacular seaplane flight from Port Hardy on northern Vancouver Island, and include accommodation, wilderness-gourmet food and bear viewing. The floating lodge is situated at an outstanding wildlife viewing location, where an ocean fjord meets a productive salmon river. The 9 bedrooms all have ensuite bathrooms, and the natural wood decks surrounding the lodge are a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine while enjoying the beauty of the scenery. All of our cabins are furnished to feel like a home away from home. Most rooms have two beds in each room and all cabins have a private bath. Comfortable beds are adorned with down comforters and cotton sheets. Cabin extras include cozy robes, Canadian bath amenities, daily room service and turn down services, outdoor seating and ocean views. Fishing Package: Our calm, protected waters offer one of the most unique saltwater fishing experiences on the British Columbia Coast. All five species of pacific salmon, as well as halibut, lingcod, and other bottom fish can be caught just minutes from our dock.
