The Guest House at Burrowing Owl Estate Winery is your sanctuary and is steps away from the Sonora Room Restaurant and the Estate Wine Shop. Discover a destination. The Guest House offers adult-only accommodations in ten spacious rooms featuring intimate fireplaces and private decks that overlook the vineyards. We also offer the vast Meritage Suite, complete with a private elevator, gourmet kitchen, two bedrooms, two baths and private decks, you are on top of the world. Enjoy a 25-meter outdoor pool surrounded by a massive sun deck and an all-season hot tub. The Fireside Lounge offers quiet relaxation where you can curl up with a good book, catch up on work, or join other guests for a glass of wine. Reopening at a new land-based location, Ocean House offers boutique accommodations overlooking a protected bay near the village of Old Massett. The peaceful and visually-stunning setting offers guests convenient access to Naikoon Provincial Park, as well as the many Haida arts and culture experiences available in Masset and the neighbouring communities. A dining room featuring gourmet tide-to-table cuisine, and a rejuvenating Haida-inspired spa, complete with treatment rooms, cedar sauna, steam room and fitness centre, enhance the guest experience.

Big Bar Guest Ranch is proudly owned by Stswecemc Xgattem First Nation (SXFN), a community located in a semi-remote area on the the Fraser River, approximately 85 kilometers southwest of Williams Lake. Once two distinct bands, Canoe Creek (Stswecemc) and Dog Creek (Xgattem), our two Secwepemc communities joined together in the late 1800s. We honour our separate histories and our coming together. In the 1860s, more than 10,000 people traversed the Caribou Wagon Roadin search of a new life, land to raise cattle, or a gold strike. Harry Marriott, an immigrant from England, started working for the notorious Gang Ranch, one the largest ranch in Canada. Marriot acquired smaller ranches and land parcels, eventually consolidating them into the O.K Ranching Company, with access over 200,000 acres of cattle country and wilderness. Marriott partnered with his friend and Vancouver banker, George S Harrison and sectioned off 100 acres of their mutual land acquisition for his personal use. This was the beginning of Big Bar Guest Ranch. Much is unchanged since the Harrison family used Big Bar Ranch as their family retreat. The original family home, "The Harrison House", built in 1936 with logs and stone hewn and selected from the property, continues to provide a cozy retreat for guests on holiday relaxing in the great room in front of the fire place, or playing a cowboy song on the guitar in the music room. Big Bar guests have access to the original acreage of the OK Cattle Company, and can venture out across unspoiled pasture lands and forests. What has changed is that Big Bar Guest Ranch is now a part of our shared community vision of becoming an economically and politically self-sustaining community living Secwepemc culture, language, and traditions in a healthy and safe environment. Stswecemc Xgattem First Nation invites you to Big Bar Guest Ranch to experience the dramatic landscape of traditional SXFN Territory: interlocking valleys and plateaus, situated between bold and snow topped mountain ranges. It is our honour to share history as the original inhabitants of this land and welcome you to life on the ranch.

Where History Comes to Life - Stroll down the streets of our 1920s community. Period costumed townsfolk welcome visitors and give demonstrations in the homes, businesses and shops. Visitors can feel the heat of the fire as the blacksmith works at the forge, hear the rhythm of the platen press at the Burnaby Post, smell freshly ground coffee in the General Store, be a 1920s student in a one-room schoolhouse, watch the tinsmith cut, crimp & curl flat sheets of tin into useful household items. Everyone is welcome to take a ride on the 1912 CW Parker Carousel, explore the restored 1912 Interurban Tram, and enjoy a treat in the Ice Cream Parlour. The Village is open seasonally (Spring Break in March, Summer Season- early May to Labour Day, and Heritage Christmas-late November to early January) and year-round for pre-booked groups and programs.

Open seasonally, our modern Tasting Lounge is a welcoming space to sit back, relax, and enjoy tableside service. The experience is unhurried and premium - designed to let you truly savour our aromatic, approachable, and lively wines that reflect Summerlands unique personality.
