It is a place designed for stillness, reflection, and genuine connection. Built in 1902 by the Canadian Pacific Railway, the lodge blends historic charm with rustic comfort. Its 85 guest rooms are spread across 24 chalet-style cabins, each featuring cozy down duvets, wood-burning fireplaces, and private balconies or patios overlooking the lake and forest. Whether waking to mist over turquoise waters or watching the sunset light up the mountains, every stay feels timeless and unhurried. Chims Cabins is located on the west side of Port Alberni along Highway 4, just a 57 minute drive from the city centre and event venues. Ideal for travelers heading to Tofino, visiting for work, or couples seeking quiet comfort. We offer six (6) self-contained cabins with private entrances, full kitchens, and mountain views. Cabins feature queen beds or a combination of queen and double beds, with pull-out couches and roll-up cots available in select units. Amenities include free Rogers Business Wi-Fi, satellite TV, and one dedicated parking spot per unit (extra parking available upon request). Our eco-conscious property offers on-site garbage, recycling, and food waste disposal. Rates are based on double occupancy (2 guests sharing a queen bed) or number of beds provided. $25 + tax per night applies for each extra guest using the pull-out or cot. The Splatsin people reside on Indian reserve lands adjacent to the City of Enderby to the south and across the Shuswap River to the east.

The Grizz Hotel opened in September 2019, in that time it has undergone renovations both inside and out. All the rooms were renovated at the start of 2020 including new bathrooms. We now also serve the Wing n' it franchise in both our onsite pub (the Last Drop pub) as well as our restaurant, where hotel guests can enjoy a 15% discount on food.
