During the pandemic, the Sidney Street Market was transformed into the "Sidney Outdoor Markets". Its new location off Beacon Avenue, next to the Mary Winspear Centre, hosts two markets per week throughout the summer. The new location offers plenty of nearby parking, larger, less crowded laneways to walk, convenient public washrooms and a wonderful variety of local and regional growers, producers, artists, musicians and creators that consist of many of our old favourites along with loads of new, exciting vendors. All of this is still just steps away from beautiful downtown Sidney and the many shops, restaurants and waterfront walkway. A recently renovated community museum, telling the stories of the Southern Carrier First Nations and the peoples who have settled in the Cariboo in the last 250 years. Listen to stories of Chinese and First Nations Elders at our video stations and meet the residents of the early 20th century through the remarkable portraits of CD. Hoy and C.S. Wing. Participate in scavenger hunts and hands on activities. Keep the memory of your visit alive with a souvenir from our gift shop. We have a good selection of history books, clothing, toys, jewelry and housewares. During the Winter Season ( October to April) the museum is only open on Saturday or by appointment.

The Canadian Wildlife Museum is located just minutes north of Vernon B.C. We offer an outstanding arrangement of Wildlife Displays, most of which the average person would never see in the wild. There are over 350 mounted specimens, ranging in size from mice to bison, including over 120 birds of prey and over 115 different species of Canadian wildlife. There is also a large butterfly and moth collection. There are 45 viewing stations, with over 220 different scenes of wildlife. The excellence in taxidermy workmanship and amazing artwork is not just in the mounted animals but also in the natural detailed dioramas. There is also a Gift Shop with many very unique wildlife/nature related novelties, souvenirs, and gifts.
